A warning has been issued regarding the possibility of a strong earthquake in Greece.
According to Bizimxeber.az, after hundreds of seismic tremors were recorded in the region, the Greek authorities sent special forces, rescue teams, tents, and drones to the island of Santorini.
Amid fears of a larger earthquake that could trigger a tsunami, people have been advised to move away from the coastline and abandoned buildings, empty swimming pools, and avoid gathering in enclosed spaces. The Civil Protection Ministry has announced that schools will be closed as a precautionary measure.
Researchers have stated that the seabed around Santorini is filled with fault lines.
